Cigarettes.. ugh

Yeah, many places in LA and cities in LA county have banned smoking in public. Some university campuses have banned smoking too. They've pushed smokers back into their holes, lol. Maybe that the first step, banning smoking. Years ago my pops used to go on a lot of business trips in South America and he quit smoking just because he couldn't stand not smoking on the flight. lol. I guess you have to quit when you CAN'T smoke.

 

I wouldn't have quit unless I used champix, it was seriously easy, I haven't craved, or been a miserable twat. I work with idiots all day every day and haven't ever wanted to throttle any of them or smoke.
Serious about stopping, want to do it with no effort, then do yourself and ur body a huge favor, order the champix course, I didn't really want to stop, I enjoyed it, and liked the whole smoking process and the social piece as well, BUT it was so easy, I couldn't pretend that I was struggling. It is the easiest I have ever had it, give it a go guys.

 

i think the best way to taper off is to switch to those electronic water vapor ones. it still sucks but not as bad as just flat out quitting.

 

I wonder if lmr20 has stayed with it ?

 

I had a woman in the grocery store tell me that smoking doesn't cause cancer. I looked her in the eye and said.....In 2006 my 48yr old sister died from throat cancer. it was the most horrific experience I have ever been through, to say nothing of what she went through. One day she was having a hard time breathing, 4hrs later she had an emergency tracheotomy! Never ate food again! She died 6 months later. So don't tell me smoking doesn't cause cancer!!!

 

You are right on the money. You will NEVER quit smoking out of need. You must WANT to, else you will fail.

I smoked a pack a day for 20 years. I quit 10 years ago.

How did I succeed? I got angry. I had a few realizations:

1. I'm lighting up to "scratch an itch" that never would have surfaced in the first place had I never lit up.
2. I'm blowing my good money to make the tobacco company extremely profitable.
3. I am absolutely, positively guaranteed to live a shorter life if I continue doing this.

There's no upside to smoking. Sure, nicotine is amazing, but you'll get over it.

Remember when you were 5 years old and had no desire to light up? If you can just get over the hurdle, you can return to those days. No desire to smoke can only come after years of avoiding the drug.

This thread is making me want to quit... I've been smoking a pack a day for 10 years straight and I'm only 26. I can already feel the affects, and I think I'm too young to be middle aged already (compared to what my life expectancy would be if I keep smoking).

 

Just ordered the v2 E-cig. Wish me luck .
