    Im not 100% on the species of the clam. i think its a maxima. it has a blue skirt with black dots with a gold/green center.

    Too me it looks like a crocea. They are rock boring clams and prefer to be in an indentation in the rock work, once they become acclimated to the lighting.

    i put it up on the rocks and it jumped right off within an hour. ill try to move it again. lets just hope its not footed to the glass. Thank you

    Better to try to place it on a flat surface on the sand bed, let it attach and then move it up. Once they start jumping off the LR, moving them or repostioning them is not a good idea IMO.

    This clam loves intense lighting but is a bit more sensitive than maximas, derasea, or squamosas. IME. They need a longer acclimation time.
