    Correct, bad water parameters can cause fish to be stressed and supress the fishs immune system. Making them more suseptable to disease organisms such as the bacterial disease vibrio or the internal fungal infection Ichthyophonus hoferi which cause popeye.

    Yeah, if this is what caused the popeye it didn't get it in my tank because I noticed it while I was acclimating it. Also, I didn't notice it had popeye while in the other guys tank which is why I think it is a result from banging up against the rocks and glass while he was netting it.
