Hello - What do you use to clean the outside of your glass tank?

Just water or can you use some of cleaner like windex?

    Thanks!

I just use water and a clean towel. I've used a razor blade and vegetable oil on the Outside only to clean a hard to get calcium stain off the glass.

Windex is fine if you spray it on a towel away from the tank.

RO/DI, in a spray bottle. Works wonders. I use it for all my windows now. Streak free and no risk. Works better than windex/cleaners and is much safer.

Since RO/DI is so clean it will attract the salt into it. No reason to use windex.

I've always used Windex. Just spray it on your cloth or paper towel while holding it away from the tank to prevent overspray from getting in the water.

There is a product called Coralife Glass Cleaner/Polisher that is excellent to clean the aquarium glass which comes in a 8oz spray bottle. It gives like a shine and glass looks great. I also use a magnet to clean the inside of the glass and when used in combination with the Coralife product the magnet will slide very easily without the usual vibration. Its like wax!

I also use a squeegee with water.

This is the product description from their website.

Cleans glass aquariums to a sparkling shine and applies a protective glazeWith continued use, the aquarium will repel dust and resist water spots and fingerprintsUse with Coralife Quick Wipes for Coralife Glass Cleaner-Polisher

Careful if you have an acrylic tank. Dont use ammonia, use plain RODI or a vinegar based cleaner.
