clean up crew

    hello my tank does not have a good clean up crew at all and my tank is starting to show the results as my tank is messy looking with algea and cyan. my tankk is a 46g bowfront and it has been set up for 4 mounths.
    current clean up crew
    5 hermit crabs
    1 turbo snail
    how many snails and crabs should i get. thanks

    You're fine on hermits, and one turbo is OK unless you have lots of HA.

    I'd recommend you start with a dozen snails that eat film algae. Go with a mix of Nerite, Astrea, and Trocus for now, then see where you are. You could also add 2 or 3 true peppermint shrimp if you like.

    FYI for my 65 he recommended 15 hermits and like 60 snails.
    i think you are stocking very light on the CUC right now.
