wow no way to 4 conchs!!!!!!!

i have one and use to move him between two tanks..

i think 4 will starve, i would start with one but at most 2

those guys only stay on the sand so if you have 4 in a 75 gallon they will seriously clean the sand so fast and then not have anything to munch on.. BUT i do love them and a great addition..

as far as one or two i would say it depends on how many square inch of sand, there's no calculation but some people have a lot of rock w/no space for these guys to move around and some have most their rockwork stacked so minimal is actually touching the sand so if you don't have a lot of space for them to roam just get one

also the blue legged hermits are cool and better lookin than the reds but i have noticed (and others have told me) that the blues are more aggressive... and sometimes eat some corals, i know you don't have corals and mine haven't touched any corals anyway but they murder snails for their shells and never taken them i've pulled out almost all my blue legs because i would find a new dead/empty shell every day and when i would see a snail becoming a meal it was always a blue legged eating

also the reds eat more algae then the blue so i've noticed blues go for more leftover fish food and snails

    goodluck
