I am new to this site, and reef tank keeping. I have read in other posts about "clean up crews". I have a few hermit grabs, but no snails. I heard if theres nothing to eat the grabs will eat the snails... is this true?

Also, please advise what I need to have a clean up crew. I have green algae that I clean off my glass tank about every other day.

    Thanks!

Hermit crabs are OK , IMO, but a variety of different snails will do a far better cleaning job IME and as you already know, Hermits cannot clean the glass at all, whereas snails can and often do
