cleaner and crabs

ok i guess this is a dumb question but i gotta ask...: 1... how often is a cleaner shrimp soupose to shed???? the on i have i got bout 6 weeks ago n has already molted like 4 times... just wondering if that normal.. 2. on a molting note i have 2 crabs in my tank n thought i lost both as of this afternoon... bout 3 days ago i found what i thought was a dead crab on my sand upsidedown... so i pulled it out figureing i lost one. then today i found another but this time when i pulled it out i was looking right at on on my rocks n noticed the one i was takeing out was just a shell... do crabs molt also???? if they do this one i didn't know.... thanks;D

 

I'm pretty sure crabs will molt.....

 

The phylum Arthropoda, crabs, shrimp... spiders...all have an exoskeleton that they must shed to in able them to grow.

How often crabs and shrimps molt will depend on water chemistry and available food source and basic over all health. A weakened specimen may molt but it runs a good chance of dying during the molt.

Being that a Sally Lightfoot is a crab then yes. If it has an exoskeleton then it must molt silly goose.
