Clown Compatibility

Hey guys,
Wanted to get your opinion on this statement, it is from www.aquacon.com, but I have also seen it a few other places...it is in reference to Tank Raised Clownfish:

"Because they are tank raised, many varieties of tank raised clowns can be maintained together in the aquarium along with other varied tank members."

Now of course, this is given the fact that one has ample room....but assume it is not a HUGE tank, do you guys feel or have any experience with this. Is it true that tank raised clowns, no matter the variety can co-exist in the same quarters no problem? I love the Australian Black Percula Clown, and would love to get one when I upgrade to a larger tank....but I also have my standard orange Perculas that I hope will be making the move when the time comes? What are you thoughts....does anyone know if being tank raised makes a difference...would getting a black Percula be a problem with the pair I have already?

 

No, it is not true. You can put a bunch of clowns in a tank and they'll get along fine until a mated pair develops. After that, it's every clown for themselves and the odd man out will be killed.

 

I thought that might be the outcome....a shame though...I would rather have a tank full of assorted clowns if I had my way! I love those little guys! Thanks!

 

Clowns are one of my favorites too and I'd love to have more than one pair but, alas, it is not meant to be
