Does anyone have any experience with this fish? I know it goes by several names depending on where you look and who you talk to ::) but to make it easier I have the latin name for it as well Cirrhilabrus solorensis. We were thinking of getting him for our 55 gallon and wanted to see if anyone had first hand experience with him. All thats in the 55 gallon right now is two clown fish and a yellow tail damsel so plenty of room for him and all the sites I've checked say a 55 is fine for this fish, but 1st hand experience is usually more informative.

    Thanks all!

Solar wrasse? Great fish, active and pretty... Ships terrible so I would look for one at a LFS that has been there awhile as compared to ordering online.
Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura looks almost the same, actually I think it looks alittle nicer and is usually half the price.

    Good luck

Yeah my local fish store actually has one, they've had him for two weeks so he will be up for sale shortly (they watch difficult shippers for a couple weeks prior to putting them up for sale) and he'll be $35 I just didn't know for sure if he would be ok in the 55 as some sites say 55gallon min and other say 90gallon min....so confusing.

I also have a question about the solar wrasse. They look like really cool fish but the problem is I want my tank to be a reef tank. Are Solar Wrasses reef safe?
