I've had my pair of clowns for 8 months now they've been fine. I switched them from my 55 fowlr to my 20g reef. I typically top off every morning cause the tanks at work. I didn't top off on Sunday and today the fish have white spots, their fins are white and one is swimming lathargicly and laying on the sand bed. Is this because the salinity was too high? Should I switch him back to my tank before he dies?
    Please help.
    Thanks

I had a similar problem once. It turned out that my heater had broken and heated my tank up over 100 degrees. Not sure if this is whats wrong but it wouldn't hurt to check it out.

Are you topping off with RO/DI? If you are topping off with saltwater that would make your sal go way up because the salt does not evaporate

Salinity is 1.024, nitrates are a hair above 0. I bought the tank 1.5 years established and it's thriving with soft corals. All I typically check is the salinity. The fish had small white bumps on them after the move, then they disappeared and after this weekend it's back with a vengeance.

Sounds like Ich, prob brought on by the sress of the move! If they're still eating I'd just do a large water change and wait! My clowns and tang just made it through a battle!

I used a product called herbtana! basically it just increases their slime coat and increases their appetite!
Get some good quality food and soak it with some garlic, try to keep them eating and they should pull through!

I think moving them would only stress them out more!

    Good luck!
