I don't know what this goby eats, however i've heard that they're very hard to feed. Many gobies are actually hard to feed, but this is one of the most challenging. I would reccommend to go ask some people who has experience with these little guys, on what they feed them. Maybe ask the fish store you buy from "What food do you feed these guys with?" so that you can get the same food, that they're used to. Maybe even ask if they can feed him, so that you can see if he ACTUALLY eats anything :)

Guess I lucked out, I've had my yellow for two years and never had a problem from day one with him eating. He can only eat very small foods though. It started out with Reef Caviar which I can no longer get, and he now eats Nutramar. He attacks the gramma in the tank when he thinks that he isn't getting his share.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mine used to really like Cyclopeez and Mysis. Rod's Foods worked well also.

Personally I have never had an issue with this fish, had I not tried to sell the tank I would probably still have them.

Only issue was that I could go weeks without seeing them.

Clown gobies will right one another and it's said that a 46 wouldn't be large enough to prevent this.

I tried a yellow clown goby as maybe my third fish or so. He ate frozen food and the tankmates paid no attention to him. Then he disappeared within the first week. I believe he got sick and stopped coming out of the rock when he did until he passed.

I currently have a green clown goby that came in on an acropora. I didn't even intend to buy the goby but it was just there! It was really shy at first but I kept trying and trying and trying to feed it and eventually it started eating bits of frozen brine shrimp. It's still really shy but when I feed it, if a piece of food comes close enough to him he'll go straight for it. The acro does get roughed up a bit where he lies in it but there's no serious damage. I've never seen him try to eat the acros in the tank either.
