    Hey all,
For the past few weeks I've noticed my clown starting to grow very fond on my rhino leather. It spends a majority of the day around it and at night it will swim through the fingers and underneath it like its trying to hide in it. I know he decided to host it but do you think he will be ok with it or do you think I should invest in a bta or ? Any suggestions. What do you think I should do at this point. I know he is ok but what would you suggest.

the call is yours to make, personally i would but that cus im a BTA fan. this said there is no guarantee the BTA will host your clown if he prefers your rhino.

btas are relatively hardy if you have a mature system with the right water parameters and more importantly, the right lighting. they do not need to be fed but keep in mind the tentacles may sting and bother other invertebrates so adequate space is required.

    my 2 cents

The major downfall when they host to a coral is that they eventually kill the coral. I usually have to buy a new flowerpot each year because they kill it.

As already stated, the choice is yours, but I wouldn't recommend it. The clown won't hurt your leather (LPS is a different story). Also there's no guarantee that the clown will move from the leather to the nem, but there is always the risk that the nem will move and come into contact with corals.

Thanks everyone. I slept on it and everything that was said makes sense.
I know my system is established enough and have the proper lighting for one. I know the clown will not hurt this guy. He is indestructible. Lol. A tank for sure. I have decided against getting one because I like said there is no guarantee it will host my clown and that would be the only reason I get one. I also don't want to worry about it coming in contact with my other corals.
    Thanks again for the help.
