I just added two black and white clown to my tank, used drip acclimation and everything. One of them is doing great, and the other is breathing really fast and kinda hanging out near the bottom. should I be worried? or is this normal and will pass as he calms down from the add?

If he is breathing really fast my first thought would be lack of oxygen. Try moving a powerhead near the surface and point it up.

I've got a rotating water deflector breaking the surface, my other two fish are breathing normal. I'll try moving my powerhead too though.

Are your water parameters all good? If not usually big stable water changes are a big help.

yup! I did a water change yesterday and tested my parameters this morning, they were all great! Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, and PH 8.2-8.4. I'm wondering if he is just super stressed out because of the move from the store to my tank.

it sounds to me like he is a bit more stressed than the other one for whatever reason. Keep an eye on him and hope he calms down. I love black and whites - they are so cute :)

    +1

All kinds of variables can be at play with wild-caught fish; they come from all over the world and are collected using a variety of (sometimes questionable) methods, and other than captive-bred or certain Red Sea specimens, the LFS doesn't normally separate fish by collector or place of origin. Hopefully it is just stress from so much moving and he'll recover.

These were all SA clowns actually! So I figured he would stand up to the move ok, they had been in the store for at least a week. Morning update: The super stressed one is missing, I hope he just found a hidey hole somewhere and will come out when my lights turn on. He didnt jump into my overflow, so he must be in the tank! We will see what happens when the lights come on I guess!
