So I just put my light on today and I wanted to see what it looked like with actinics only so I turned off the daytime lights. My female clown Freaked out.

    Is this normal?

So should I not do that again they seem to all get a little freaked. In the directions it says to run them an hour before and after but for now I have them all on the same timer.

I recommend following the directions and running them an hour after and before the daylights, some corals like a little bit of actinics only. Your clowns will adjust to the lighting schedule.
