My oldest clown, arounf 8 mon's old, nice, fat, never any problems with her..
I just went over to feed them and she's swimming around with her mouth open.. all the time..?? I think her mouth even looks alittle pale..
She;s swimmimg same as always.. breathing normal..
She host a large hammer coral..
Nothing has changed in my tank.. My other fish are fine..
My Sailfin Tang gets a little wild at times.. Think she could have ran into something abd hurt her head..?? She looks VERY healthy and still doing good and fat..??
Should I just keep an eye on her till the morning..??
She didn't eat anything..? Still guarding her hammer..?
I feed her pellets with garlic, and everything else.. No white spots, etc..

    Thanks for any info.. Larry

Doesn't seem like anything serious to me. Perhaps a warning to others to stay away from the hammer?

    I hope so PharmrJohn..

But it doesn't look right..? Maybe things will look better in the morning..
It's mouth is almost wide open.. all the time.. Maybe I'm having a bad day.. LOL
I've got to do some Major checking of my system . Can't lose the first fish I ever bought.. Even tho I have lost the 3rd and 4th fish months ago..
    Thanks, Larry

Well today she looks MUCH better.. She seemed to keep sticking her head in the hammer..? Maybe it was part of the bonding thing, she does host this hammer.
I have watched clowns get stung buy corals wild bonding, till they get a protective coating of slime built up..
But whatever, she's much better. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed..

Well I guess PharmrJohn was right..

She back to normal today, and eating good.. I've had her longer then any fish in my tank..
But for 24 to 36 hours she couldn't eat, or move her mouth.. It was wide open..
I still think there was some bonding going on with her and the hammer..??

And NO P'John, I want say it.. !! Even tho I want to..LOL

    Thanks, Larry

When fish fight they some times lock mouth's and have a good tug o war so maybe that is what the bad mouth syndrome is...just took a good ass whoopin....
