    Another clowns acting weird thread....

I've had a mated pair for about 7 months now. They've always slept in the "clown corner," swimming up and down in the corner at night, twitching, acting like clownfish. The other day, the male clown decided to go stay in the overflow box corner. The female kept coming over there, kind of nudging him, looking annoyed, I guess trying to lead him back to the clown corner. He wasn't having anything to do with that. He would do the twitching thing and go back to his other corner. This has been going on now for a few nights. In the morning when the lights are still off, I see the female in the clown corner and the male over by the overflow box. What the heck???? They both seem perfectly normal otherwise, eating fine, swimming fine, twitching fine. Are my clowns breaking up? What's with this separation thing?

For Zach and all else interested, the clowns are back together this morning, doing the corner upside-down swimming thing again. How weird is this! It was 6 days ago when they went separate ways, for whatever reason. Last night I saw the male back in their corner, so I wondered if he was going to stay. He spent 6 days on the opposite end of the tank beside the overflow box. I checked on them every morning with the lights still off, and this morning was the first time they were back in the corner together. I guess they just needed a little break from each other.....

Will just chalk this up to another "clowns acting weird" experience!

Well that's good news! Perhaps he had to sleep on the overflow box because he was checking out the fins of another fish. ;) Maybe you will have make-up spawning going on in there next. ;D
