    how many Ocellaris Clownfish, Tank Bred (Amphiprion ocellaris) can i keep in a 30gal tank?

    acording to how big they are i should be ble to keep 8 right or will more then 2 fight?

    Yep, 2 will be your max otherwise you'll have fights breaking out. Where did you hear 8?

    I would say 3 (usually one per 10 gallons is a good rate).

    Clownfish live in a harem. If they are introduced while small enough, they will be unsexed juveniles. As they grow older, the most dominant one will become a female and the 2nd most dominant one will become a male. The least dominant one(s) will remain unsexed juvenile(s) indefinitely. If one of the sexed Clownfish dies, then one of the juvenile(s) will become the male and the male will become the female.

    Adding 3 (or more) Clownfish to a tank only becomes a problem when one of 2 things is true:

    1) Those being added are not juveniles. Multiple males or females will fight to the death.

    2) You are introducing non-juveniles to a tank that already has established Clowns in it (non-juveniles).

    I would say two. I bought three and had them in a 30 for a while with no issues. Once one of them turned female and chose her mate they turned on the other male. So I would only suggest putting two. They will eventually pair up.

    so when they born therye not male or female? if i buy 2 no matter what 1 will be male and 1 female?

    They are all born male and the most dominent changes to a female.
