I went to the University of Miami (Fla). I actually got my degree in Marine Biology as well. They have an awesome program down there, it is run through RSMAS (The Rosensteil School of Marine and Atmospheric Science). Lots of opportunities to do research, dive, etc. I was allowed by the school to get Certified as a research divier and work for NOAA during the summers and even earn college credits for the work. I spent 2 summers on a research boat in the Dry Tortugas doing population density surveys - the goal being to prove that the reeefs in the tortugas were healthy and to ultimately get the Fl. Keys National Marine Sanctuary extended 90 miles west to include the marquesas and the tortugas. Talk about a great life experience. That is what college should be all about.

I think Marine Biology is a great multi-disciplnary degree. You learn a lot of everything. It is portable to many occupations. I for example went into Healthcare Technology (E-Medical Records) right out of college. That is what I still do today.

I have my B.S. in biology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches,Tx. With that I went into pharmaceutical sales for about 23 years and then a few year ago I went back to school and got an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Now I'm retired.

I loved going to school and learning. I wish I had done a little more playing instead of being so dead serious all of the time. Its all a balance. I guess play hard but work harder. Your future depends on the latter.

    Have fun!
