    I see the aptasia in the tank what I am questioning is this a colony of polyps?

    Referencing the orange colony.

    Looks like star polyps. Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing: It's the purple mat on the bottom left of the rock. Correct?

    Looks similiar but not as stringy with the tips.

    Yes I am talking about those, I thought it was the Star polyp but the color was a bit more orange than pics I saw online.

    The colony on the left is already sprouting more so a bit of relief...
