Looks good but theres no reason to have the last baffle after your skimmer be 18 inches. The return section will be lower then your skimmer section which is marked at 10". the higher baffle will just cause noise and/or bubbles

Looks good, the only thing I noticed was the lack of a bottom inside your stand for the sump to sit on. I wouldnt just let it sit on those cross pieces.

    thanks :)

I thought of that and have a pice of plyboard out side but was in a hurry to get the rest done so my I could clean up my shop ( AKA my wifes kitchen LOL dinner comes first :) )
I also have to sand the inside beams so the sump fits better, but This is the first time iv done this so its all good also in making a cubby for my chemicals.

Still looks good. I can't even tell that it was done by a guy that didn't know what he was doing. You should build a hood for the top of you tank. Are you going to stain it or paint it?

I haven't made my stand or hood for my 40g breeder yet, so I don't have any design ideas to give you. However, any of the hoods you can buy at the LFS doesn't have a back on it. Top and sides. The back is open to help get circulation in there. You built this stand with no problem, so I'm sure you won't have a problem comming up with an idea

im thinking a piano hinge for the top that lifts up and the sids out of 2x4s and plyboard trim it out like the top of the stand and two fans on the top to pull the hot sir out but i think it might be to heavy so i might be making it out of 1x1s and ply board but thats still a work in progress

Get 1x2 and thin plywood to build it with. Should be light and yet sturdy
