    The only thing is this problem is even before the hardware is detected by the BIOS. So the OS hasen't even started to load. He has a hardware issue. Either something was worked it's way loose or something has failed.. If it's still under warranty even better.

    Do any of the capacitors look gooey?

    I'm a big fan of taking it all apart and putting it back together again, while cussing. Sometimes you have to intimidate the machine.
