Conch or Whelk Snail?

    Can anyone ID this type of snail? If it is a Whelk, I assume I should get it out before I put my CUC in?

    Not exactly a whelk, but it's a predatory muricid. It's most likely a snail eater, but there are a couple of snails that look like yours which feed on corals.
