So I bought a condylactus anemone about a week after I set up my tank. And i hate to admit that I don't know much about them. It seems to be doing well and I'm just wanting some more expert info on then. I am particularly interested in knowing if they would sting me if I tried to relocate it with my hands. Any and all info is welcome.

dont relocate him, you will damage his foot...let him scoot around until he finds a suitable spot...careful i had one who crashed my 20 gallon when i made a newbie mistake on my first tank by getting one when my tank was not ready for it

Careful with a cody. It can eat fish and clowns won't host them generally. What do you have for lighting?

It doesn't matter where you want it to be. It will move where it wants to be.

Agree with both replies. Also, IMOPE, yes it will sting and stick to your hand. I made the newbie mistake of trying to place my very first one with my bare hand. Thought I'd never get it loose! I was fortunate to not be allergic.

I have a 4 bulb t5 fixture. Thanks guys for the info. I will let it be. And surprisingly it hosted my clowns yesterday after about a month of fighting. I think I might sell it or give it away in a while and get another type of nem. I really like the rose tip bubble nems.

That's plenty of light for it. As a general rule, nems tend to wander less if they are hosting anything. There's never a 100% guarantee, though. Although it's not typical for a condy to host clowns in the wild, it can and does happen occasionally in the aquarium. I had one that hosted a domino damsel. lol

What I know is their sting is quite strong which is why clowns won't host it,they tend to be one of the more aggressive besides carpets of course they are fun to feed I believe they are from the Atlantic
