Bacterial bloom comes to mind. Or calcium precipitation. How old is this tank and what are your calcium and alkalinity levels?

well, the tank is 2 years old. Calcium and alkalinity is perfect. there is no filter pad in the fluval. i just run Chemi pure in it. and that is not clogged and was replace a little over a month ago. i have not added a thing to it....my first guess was a bacteria bloom. but wouldn't that show up with the Ammonia, nitrate and nitrite tests? i have never had this problem with any of my tanks that are this old.

Diatoms can cloud the water. Bacterial blooms can be eliminated with sterilizers, you should think about getting one, or an ozoniser.

Calcium precipitation, hummm... I've been wondering why my water sometimes appears "foggy", I am at 550ppm and that just might be the answer to my issue.

my calcium is at 510 so i wouldnt think that was the problem....i use Catalina water from my LFS so i dont thhink thats it......i dont have any children that i know of...lol had to throw in a joke there. but no one that could of put something in that would contaminate it.....unless one of my female friends is upset with me....i wouldn't think thats it though. i hope.

Ok. So we can cancel out kids. :)

510 is close to snowing. What is your pH? Is it over 8.5?

Love the avatar by the way.
