    run both. you dont want the skimmer directly in the fuge. i agree with infamous, a 90 would be ideal as sump/fuge combo.

    Personally, If I had unlimited space. I would do a double stack 55s. Sump on bottom and a fuge on top. I would make the top one a flow through (no pump needed) as the return to the main tank. Easier injection of living pods.

    How would you reduce the micro bubbles if you were to gravity flow back into the main tank? I am really liking this idea ! I think I can make it work, I would have lots of room in the Sump for later upgrades....calcium reactor etc....and lots of room in Fuge up top.....easy to plumb and moniter easier on pods etc...200 gallons water total.....looks like a win / win if ya ask me !!

    Without using a Sock....is there a way to gravity flow back into main w/o bubbles ?? I guess ensure the return to main is underwater for one ?? but would still have bubbles ?
