You can go to Digital Aquatics forum and get tons of information, uses etc. I have a reefkeeper lite and love it. I am ugrading to 120 gallon and i have the elite ready to go. My suggestion is i would go right for the elite. Thats' if your going to have the upgrade bug.

Racer... all controller have different function and more of them cost more. You need to make sure the one you want is going to do what you need before you spend the money. I don't know about RK I used Neptune. None of them NEED a computer to run... but nowadays it's all about the conectivity so most of them will connect and can be accessed across the web.

I know for Neptune a conductivity probe was ~$120 but it needed a $200 module to run. Again... don't know about RK, but make sure you don't need other stuff. Just cause it CAN run a probe does not mean it comes that way. Most everything with any controllers are all add on.

Watts don't matter with heaters. It's just the outlet... 15 amps. On or off. What you need to do is count up everything you want controlled and how many outlets you will need. The package will come with a set number and you need to figure out if you need to buy more.

Controllable outlets are another specialty... dimmable leds or pumps or what ever. You need to make sure that what you get are in fact controllable.

I will just throw this out.... There are plenty of users of RK. Basically they all do the same thing and they do it the same way. From listening to those that have had both, they said Neptune was a bit simpler to use. However I doubt RK is very much more complicated. However... after being around... Neptune seems to be the leader in the hobby. They come out with the most feature first and seem to have the best support from the company and the users. A lot of people think RK lite are so much cheaper... but they are not comparing apples to apples. Teh RK is just as much a Neptunes AC Jr when it is all added up for the same equipment. In fact AC jr. are cheaper in some places. Look into Neptune before parting with money.
