I have a 20g nano with 2x54w T5's in a canopy over it. I have trouble keeping the temp stable, especially after changing one of the bulbs this week, and I'll be switching the other bulb this next week.

Yesterday afternoon the temp got up to about 82, then dropped to about 78-79 overnight.

I guess my question is what kind of fans should I use, or how many etc.

I am not electronically gifted, so am very wary about wiring something up...I guess I'm asking if there is some kind of computer fan kit that will allow it to plug right into the wall...or should I tie the fans in with the light system power???

    Thanks so much!

There is no link on your previous post. You could run one fan on each side of your canopy one pulling and one exhausting, If you don't have a controller you could just put them on a timer to come on with the lights. They will also help your bulb performance in addition to evap. cooling.
Don't forget you will need to keep an eye on your water level as the fans will increase your evap rate.

I may be worng but i would say no since it is a gradual raise and lower it isnt like the tank it going from 75 to 80 in minutes it takes a while for the lights to warm the water. during the summer my tank will range from 75 to 85 through the course of the day with no ill effects. I may be an exception but it works for me.

Well, to be safe I chucked out $30 for a 120v 3.5" Eco-Plus fan from my LFS. Hooked it up and it seems to be doing the trick...holding at 79...woohoo!

I would've personally lowered the heater so it was at like 76, so during the day it would only go up to 79-80 because of the lights.
