    well, i have another question..

i have this powerhead i got at walmart, but i used it for my QT tank, to which was dosed with copper.

now that i dont have the QT running, does that mean i cant use the powerhead anymore??

i kinda wanted to use it for my Display tank... is it usable if washed? or something done to it... or just plain worthless without the qt?

I don't know much about copper, but I would think that if you rinse it really well it would be okay to use....

I think you would be ok. Just clean it real good and run it in water outside the tank. I ran a tank with copper before then drained and dried. Then refilled it and tested for copper and found no trace. This was including the HOB filter. I changed the media though.

Actually copper is really bad for inverts, I've heard that if you have ever used copper in an aquarium, there are certain inverts you can't add. Don't know if that applies to a powerhead though.
