why i added my CBB, he was bullied to death, so i didnt get a chance to see how the fish would interact with my corals/clams.

for the record, yellow tangs will kill a CBB almost immedately

Thank you for all the responses everyone. I am having the lfs place him in the 40breeder mixed reef tank he has to see if he picks at things and if he will go after aiptasia. Im still not sold on adding it to my reef, I have a flame angel already that likes to take small samples of my monti cap every now and then lol

From what ive read, cbb are little better than 50-50 on whether they'll even touch the aiptasia. The one Ive currently got is, so far, an aiptasia killing machine! I easily had 200 of those things in my tank... Now I can spot about 4. Two that I've Re-homed to try another... Never even looked at them. None of the ones I've had messed with any of my coral.

2x $9 peppermint shrip vs 30-50 bucks on a finiky copperband butterfly is obvious to me

if all you're doing is wanting to get rid of that aptasia get the shrimp if you want a gorgeous fish that might do the job then get the butterfly

peppermint shrimp even if it doesn't work it's the same price as the aptasiax and waaaaay less work

i believe the cbb is a med hard fish to keep, i believe the larger the tank the better and he must have a non stressed beginning, i lost my first one to a yellow tang attack after 6 months or so, the one i have now is over a year old and very healthy, i also have peppermint shrimp with no problems, i do believe they have eaten the corals that people report them eating i don't know why some do some don't? i love my copperband. i feed him brine, mysis shrimp and bloodworms i believe the bloodworms are the success that keeps the fish healthy
