I did. :( That sucked. I got it taken care of today. I just need some stuff to keep it down. I took out my LR and scrubbed it down with a metal wire brush. I also broke it up with a hammer so I could aqua-scape better [it used to just be 2 big pieces.] No I've got an Arch set-up, I think it looks good. But I can still see just some parts of GHA that I hope won't spread.

Do you know what the cause of the gha is? Are you using RO or tap?

I use treated tap, I used to use jugs of water from Safeway or QFC until I realized that some needed minerals are taken out during that process. No I just use tap because I can't afford a RO unit.

BTW, I tested my Phosphates a little bit ago and they registered at about .045ppm.

Ok, then tap may be the cause of your gha. Does you LFS sell RO water or do you know of a RO station at say your local walmart?

Oh. Okay, I'll look tomorrow for some RO water, maybe they give it away for free? Idk about the RO stations, but that would be nice. I'll look into this. What's in my tap that promotes GHA growth?

Just a bunch of dissolved organic particles and the phosphates. If you want a real good explanation, then PM AZdesertrat, he'll be able to answer all of your water questions. I was using tap and had a bad gha problem and after I switched to RO water, it went away.

Thanks for the suggestions! First off, I'll look into the RO station at a Walmart, etc. Thanks! I'm most likely going with some mushrooms, I'll be sure to post pics.

a METAL brush? what kind of metal? have you tested the water after the adjustments that you made in the tank? theres would have been alot of die off if you scrubed the hell out of rocks. IMO. do you test your water regulary? i dont know if i would add anything. zoas are easy to care for and if they die in a week maybe something up. got pic of your tank?
