I saw this little bugger the other night. Have no clue where it came from because I haven't added anything
to this tank for about 8 months now other than Seahorses. And I am having a hard time believing it has been in there all this time because I spend so much time with this tank.

His claws are rounded and cream colored on the tips. I thought it might be a gorilla crab but it doesn't look
like any of the pictures I saw on line. I know for a fact that he killed my emerald crab that I had in this tank
because that was how I spotted him, all the body parts laying around his lair!

No idea on the crab, I had a similar looking crab that I found dead in my tank the other day. It had been in there for months and I didn't know it.

Whatever it is, I would get it out. Its already killed, and if your making this a seahorse tank, its not like they can get away very fast or defend themselves if need be. Yank it

It almost looks like it IS an emerald crab, judging by the shell and the flat algae pincers.

I could be wrong, but is it possible that the shell you found were from a molt?
