I put one in a week ago and there doesnt seem to be much improvement. Should I wait longer or do something else?

well it was also recommended to me on reefcleaners-- the snails cant seem to take care of this almost dusty algae on the glass and large algae spots on the sand. They also make it so that I cant see because there are many snails on the glass at one time blocking my view

the snails wont get your glass perfectly clean. a mag float will get rid of the residual algae. these large spots of algae on your sand , is it cyano? some better flow over that area will help if thats tthe case

    2 birds one stone here

if you routinely use the algae scraper/ magnet on your front glass, your snails wont be all over it blocking your view , they will come, find nothing to eat and move along

one week is to short.....to get to a sustained level of clean it takes awhile for catch up ...

+1 to mag float helping it go faster. after 3 weeks you should see a noticeable change and a progressively cleaner tank from that point on.

Yeah, its funny to watch the turbos sort of march off the glass pissed off when theres nothing there for them. They can move quickly when they want to.

then you are feeding too much...a little hair algae here and there is normal, outbreaks are caused by serious nutrient problems. If the snails are so thick you cant see through the tank and you have multiple turbos to boot, it should be keeping up. What is your CUC, paramaters, bioload, amount of rock tc...?
