what i consider my LFS says he carries a Current USA Nova Extreme 6 bulb 48" fixture that comes with legs, acrylic shield, bulbs and everything is: $379.99.
Is this a good deal? Is this a realiable fixture?

Both the standard and Pro versions are good units. The Pro version comes with the better reflectors.

The bulbs themselves are average. When you change bulbs, upgrade to a better brand (UVL, Geismann, Etc..)

The only downside to the Pro, is the lack of moonlights.

I don't care about moonlights. I have them on my fixture now and don't use them

In that case, the Pro would be a better choice. You could grow anything in that tank of yours. The standard would too, just not as low in the tank.

Its a entry level unit.. What concerns me about Current USA lately is that it is backing out of many distrobution channels.. Not sure what that is all about.

Is it the worst? No but there is better.. Good luck on the decision

I have the Pro and my only problem is the legs are too low for skimmer on my 46 gal. bow tank. I will just end up hanging it and that will be okay.

I returned mine a little over a week ago. I started having problems with 2 of the lights not wanting to work all the time. the bulbs were on 2 different circuits. Would I recommend it YES. I do agree that there are other lights out there that are of higher quality with better reflectors and better bulbs but I do believe these are a very nice fixture for the money. I also believe that you can get a bad product no matter who the manufacturer was. I have seen Kia's passing broken down cadillacs.

Do they come with any kind of warranty?
I just can't justify spending the extra for the Tek fixture when I can get this one for about $200 cheaper.
