So my sandbed is filled with different colors, ranging from brown to teal to grean to purple, its only on the sand that's pressed up to the glass but not on the top top of the sandbed itself.

I don't really care for this algae or whatever it is, as it makes the tank just look dirty.

Flow wont be a problem, next week i will be getting my vortech mp20, i feed frozen brine and flake food once every other day, lights are on 10 hours a day, i'm using ro/di water, i do a 5 gallon water change once every week. bulbs are only 3 months old, tank is 4 1/2.

typical CUC, hermits, nerites, ceriths, narcissus *sp*, urchin cleaner shrimp, and emerald crab. fish are helfrichi firefish and pair of clowns

That's just film algae, everyone gets it, it's no big deal. If you really want to keep it at bay, scrape it off with a scraper, or you can use a mag float if it's near the surface. Your's isn't bad at all and will probably just get worse as your tank ages.

ok, i just wasnt sure if it was cyano or not, i still havent gone through the cyano stage yet. I've been through the diatoms, and gha stage so far. If this is normal for all tanks, guess i'll just leave it, i just miss the bright white sand that i used to have

So do I, but not all tanks go through a cyno stage. If you want to keep your sand prestine, you can just siphon some out and replace it when you do a water change. I have done that many times.

ok, i have yet to do a siphon on the tank, i worry about accidently pulling out inverts. I hope i don't go through the cyano stage, maybe the small bubble algae outbrake took the cyanos place, id rather deal with the bubble then the cyano
