I set up my 28g modified nano today and it is running great. I used 40lbs of live rock from my dt tank and 4 lbs of live sand from my dt tank and used 70% cycled water from my dt tank. I only purchased 40lbs of new play sand(beach sand). Alot cheaper. Gave the new sand a thorough rinse and set everything up. Everything in tank looks good. Critters running around and all parameters look good now. Coral thats stuck on live rock has opened up and looking healthy. My question is will I be seeing a cycle ?
And how fast can I transfer everything from my dt tank. 2 clowns some shrimp snails crabs and corals.

It's dangerous. You probably "could" do it now. But you will more than likely go through a mini cycle this week. I would watch it for 10 days personally.

I've never used play sand but have heard it's FULL of sylicates and all kinds of other bad stuff.

Play sand is aragonite sand. Play sand is scooped up from the beach. I don't see it having bad things after a good washing. The sand came from Florida beaches. I have tested no phosphates so far. I cleaned the sand for several hours and been running filter floss. Would it take a while for silicates and phosphates to show
