    I put in 170 lbs of sand from another tank,240g of ro water,no rock yet,threw in about bucket and a half of oceanic natural sea salt,added some live sand and live rock from my 75g in the Refugium,this was done on Monday and Tuesday.yesterday water was still a little cloudy checked my params nitrate0, nitrite n/a,salinity1.026,kh11,ca520,ammonia0phosphate0,ph 8.2.today when I came home from work i saw this [​IMG]did my tank cycle that fast.

    Did you add any food source for the cycle to test? You may want to get some pure ammonia and add to the tank and then test the next day to see if the tank handles the spike. Why no nitrite test?

    Don't have one will get one tomorrow though. I did not put anything in besides sand I got from a friend who was breaking down his 75 g.

    my only concern would be if he had any nasty stuff in his sand bed that got stirred up when you got the sand, I'd prob let it run for a bit. Add ammonia or some fish food to keep the bacteria up and make sure everything evens out for awhile before adding any livestock, although, you'll prob be ok.
