I will be cycling a tank soon with a sump/fuge. My main question is, would it be beneficial to have the fuge up and going like it will be when the cycle ends (i.e. with mud, sand, rock and chaeto/mangrove/etc...)? Or is it better to add the Chaeto/Mangroves afterward.

Also, has anyone used or heard anything about the product below?

Fiji Mud, Refugium Booster - AquaCave

I have used the products (Walt Smith Ent.) and like them.
As for the contents of your sump/fuge, I would set it up as if it were an established aquarium, IMO.

ive heard that the fiji mud is not worth it, but cannot remeber exactly why. as for setting it up during your cycle. I dont see how it would hurt to go ahead and add the macro algaes right away.
