    i have a 125 gal, been running for 12 days now. but here's my question. I have 150 lbs of dry rock, 120 lbs of live sand, went to my LFS and bought 15 lbs of live rock. the live rock came with leathers on them. 5 leathers and 2 mushrooms. Should i go buy a 10 gal tank to keep the live rock with leathers in it until i get the tank to cycle? and how many shrimp do i need to cycle a 125 gal? dose the shrimp have to be cleaned or put in whole with or without the shell? thanks for any help.The ammonia has not moved as of yet still reading 0ppm

    if you put the leather in the 10 gal how you going to cycle the 10 gal?

    as for how many shrimp you need - try 2 to 3 large ones and cut them up - this will provide more surface area for bacteria to decay them and produce ammonia. also cleaned, rinsed and no shell.
