That is what I did, little yellow tail is still in the tank today.

I never have any problems out of my yellow tail..but I only have one. If you pair them up them you are looking for trouble. Only problem with using dead shrimp is the tank will spike and bacteria will grow to handle the load but will die off without something in the tank to keep it going. A single fish maintains the load on the tank and the bacteria will not die off.

I used damsels, probably would again. I like them, personally.

The cycle puts some hair on their chest ;)

I agree with Tatted4ever Im also sure that Steve Wright started a similar poll

I also agree with everyone on this thread who voted Damsel
mine (yep I have 2 that I put in to cycle my current 5ft reef as I never considered the possiblity that they may one day like each other - and thus far they have not shown any signs of liking each other so its a regular dive bomb routine and all other subsequent introductions get left alone as the damsels show some interest and then suddenly remember who the real enemy is)

Clowns are OK on mini cycles - well they where in the circus when I was younger

    Steve

At my LFS they took in some fish from people that wanted to get rid of them because they were too aggressive and causing problems in there tanks. Now he loans them out to customers to cycle there tanks and gives a partial credit when they return them. So right now I am cycling my tank with a Undulated Trigger.
Anywho, check with your LFS and maybe they do the same type of thing?
