cycling process!

    I have a quick question...my tank has started to cycle...the ammonia went up to 1.0 today... but tomorrow I was thinking about adding a sump becauise im building my stand and I got the sump cheap and overflow and pump...so I need help on to decied wil lit hurt my cycle to do this? its a 20h with a 10g sump that will probably be holding 3 gallons of water in it... not really any much more... thanks guys/gals

    I'd think that the extra water would dilute your ammonia levels a bit, but it doesn't sound like you're all that far into the cycle at this point...and you'll be glad to have the sump later as your tank matures -- i know adding a 10 gallon sump to my 20H has been a great change!

    I didn't answer that question last night hahahaha?
    Well, no it shouldn't affect your cycling of your tank! It is best to have a sump if you can do it IMO!!!! Alot of things you can do with it and very few cons with a sump! The more water volume and surface area the better!!!!!
