    I am in the process of cycling my tank. Is it a good idea to have carbon in the sump during this?

    I hope so, The LFS told me to add Carbon to my Mag 350 canister during set up....which i did ?? Been in there 10 days so far ??

    Then again they also said I didn't need to run the skimmer as it will produce nothing....this after knowing it had used live rock / inverts in the tank...and it is removing the stinky green liquid as we speak.

    personaly..I find the advise HERE much more accurate!
