What tempurature should I run my tank at when cycling? There are no fish so nothing would be harmed. Right now I keep it steady at 77 degrees. I was told that a higher tempurature will cause the bacteria to grow faster. Is this true?

It may or may not. I would keep the tank at the temperature you plan to keep it when it has livestock.

The only reason to go higher is if you were cycling a tank with pure ammonia. In that case you would want to be around 85. Otherwise, keep it where you are as mentioned.
