well today i went to do a big water change, 30 gallons. after i did the water change i noticed my bubble tip was extra deflated, it had been shrinking and deflating the past few days but the pedestal seemed fine, after the water change i saw these white spots start appearing on the pedestal and it look like it was being stretched and the mouth was starting to push out, i tested the water and had an ammonia spike of .5 and nitrites at 0.1
I removed the anemone, and have since added prime, was the dying anemone the cause of the spike in nitrite and ammonia.

Tank is 6 months old( i know it was young to add the anemone but parameters were testing fine and the corals were thriving so i took a leap of faith with it i guess)
    ph8.2 temp 76-77
    sg 1.024 alk 6
    nitrite .1 nitrate 10 - 15
    ammonia
    no3-0 no4-.5
    calc 410
    120 gallon 48 x 24 x 25
    30 gallon sump
    2x250 20k mhs, 2 65w pc, 10 led's
    150lbs of live rock
    skimmer marineland 300 gallon
    cuc yes

before this ammonia was at zero and nitrites at 0 for several months now.
i added an orange shoulder tang to the bunch 8 days ago, making a total of 8 fish, 2 domino damsels, a yellow tail damsel, a powder blue tang, purple tang, orange shoulder and 2 clowns. i was assuming since the clowns and damsels wouldn't grow that big the three tangs wouldn't be too much on the bio load or could that be the contributing cause of the spike which took out the green bubble tip anemone.

an anemone dieing could very well cause an ammonia spike. its always a good idea when you have anemones in your tank to keep live bacteria on hand. your where im at 6 months the tank is really still on its way to being stable. and little things can throw it off faster than a older tank.

look at my bio load. i dont think thats your issue

I would think the anemone is the cause. Unless the ammonia was already high and that was what cause the anemone to die
