What is this thing? It just showed up by itself.

Like a green star shape, with a white spot in the middle, It closes up into a little bud when approached.

Here is a collage of the pics of the sneaky little guy.

Here are a couple of shots of what I believe to be spaghetti worms. If anyone knows it to be anything different. Please let me know because they are all over my tank.

Here are some pics of the new star of my tank. The maroon, of which we enjoy an incredible display of colors. However, notice on the top left pic, the rock in the background has some white shell like spots. The tank is now full of them, originally on the glass around the heater and filter area where I can't clean. Now they are everywere. They are all over the rock now. It kinda worries me a little. Please advise. THanks a million.

    Isn't he cute! ;D

Oh and notice in the bottom pic, how he swims with his dorsal fin touching the surface. He does this all the time. :-/

the star could be a type of hydroid most come in colonies but some come as singles

the 2nd one i would definitly say is a spaghetti worm

the 3rd would be hard to say do they look like snails, flat or round shells?

Round. They look like tiny little white snails, except that they are attached to the rock and glass. I don't see them move.

Also, just before this outbreak I notice, tiny little parasitic looking organisms darting across the surface of the tank. Something I experienced when I first got the tank, but then they all settled down or got eaten. I wonder if it's related. Thanks Karlas your the best. :)

Most stuff in your tank is going to be pretty reef safe. Craps, aiptasia and mojano anenomes are the things to look out for. The vast majority onf polycheates, aka worms, and snails are all good. JFYI
