I saw one of these at my LFS about a week ago going for $30. I was very interested so i asked about it, i figured it would eat small fish being a lobster and all and they informed me that yes it would prey of small fish but itsen't aggresive towards other reef creatures. I decided not to buy it on the soul fact that i have a 2" leopard wrasse that i wish to watch grow up. I stumbled across live aquaria's page on the lobster and it said "The Reef Lobster is described as peaceful, and it will ignore sleeping Wrasses or healthy fish within the aquarium. Caution must be taken when incorporating into a reef aquarium, as it may harm small fish and invertebrates." Now it says it will ignore sleeping wrasses but may harm small fish so will the lobster harm a small wrasse?

I would really like to have one but i do not want to put my wrasse at risk. Does any one have any experence with one of these lobster that could comment?

Have never heard of it. Personally, I would not chance it with that beautiful wrasse.

    reef lobster

don't do it. Had one in a reef tank, couldn't catch it for about 3 years, until I took that tank down. Every small fish I put into the tank ( only kept 1 or 2 fish at a time. 25 gal reef) would disappear after a few weeks. Also, if you have live rock, you'll never see the lobster. It's nocturnal and rarely comes out. In fact I thought he was dead after not seeing him for about 8 mos, but he was still there, just bigger from all the fish he had eaten.
