Deep Sand bed?

    I was told by 2 sources that a deeper sand bed 4-5" was better for the tank (Reef Tank) True or False?

    most people only have a deep sand bed in their fuge
    but I know some people have dsb in their displays
    in my opinion it's only necessary in the fuge but thats just me

    I actually have one in both my DT and my fuge.

    I put it in the DT for aesthetic reasons mostly. I love the looks as it flows in and out of the rock work.
