    I use reef crystals and for every 5 gallons I use about 2 1/2 cups of water and that puts your salinity at 1.024. Its not going to drop your tank down that much if your tank SG is at 1.025. It is going to take a lot of WC's for that to happen.

    your salt on the back of the bad should be for every gallon a half cup to get an sg of 1.023ish i think..so it should take you about 1.3ish cups to get an sg of 1.025ish..

    just do a water change and maybe a gallon with an sg of like 1.027or8 and then see where that takes you and then do another gallon with the a higher sg..

    or just do it with the top off water..

    My salt has a 1/2 cup measure in it. If I put in one of those per gallon (not heaping, just regular) it has been coming out to exactly 1.025.
