Mine eats everything I put in the tank (brine, mysis, formula 2, etc.) - including the nori strips.

They will get most of their food from sifting the sand. If he does not accept food when you feed the tank just make sure you feed a little extra so when he sifts food is in the sand.

I used to bury some food in the sand near the goby cave. I also target fed with a turkey baster. They like formula and meaty foods a lot.

Make sure your tank has a lid. They are notorious jumpers (as I learned, to my dismay, from personal experience).

+1. Mine also eats directly from the turkey baster. Just like a bottle fed baby!

Great personality! One of my favorite fish in the tank.

Mine was an active eater and would accept any food, but frozen brine shrimp was his favorite. They also are sand sifters, but my tank was new so I supplemented his diet. +1 on the lid. Lost 2 diamond gobies that way.
