    Well its been just under 2 weeks since I've started cycling my tank, its almost complete I have no ammonia left just waiting on nitrites to go away. I noticed this rust/gold colored stuff on my sand about 3-4 days ago and then it began to grow on my base rock. just making sure it's diatoms and part of my cycle. Thanks
